Moses Kairo Is the New Dean of Agricultural and Natural Sciences at UMES

Moses K. Kairo is the new dean of the School of Agricultural and Natural Science at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne. He was the associate research director for the 1890 Land Grant Program of the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee. He was a member of the FAMU faculty since 2005 and served as the director of the university’s Center for Biological Control. He was also an adjunct professor of entomology and nematology at the University of Florida.

Dr. Kairo is a graduate of the University of Nairobi in Kenya, where he majored in zoology. He holds a master’s degree in applied entomology from Imperial College of London and a Ph.D. in entomology from the University of London.
