Alabama State University to Offer New Accelerated Bachelor’s Degree Program in Psychology

Alabama State University in Montgomery has announced the establishment of a new accelerated bachelor’s degree program in psychology. Students at three community colleges in Alabama will be eligible to enroll in the program. The students will be able to transfer 60 credit hours in general studies toward their bachelor’s degree at Alabama State. Over a 12-month period, students will earn another 60 credit hours with half the classes being taken online and the other half on the campuses of the community colleges.

Students at Bishop State Community College in Mobile, Wallace State Community College in Selma, and Jefferson Davis State Community College in Brewton will be eligible to enroll in the accelerated psychology bachelor’s degree program at Alabama State. The university hopes that the accelerated degree program will attract more minority students to the field of psychology.

  1. I’m interested in the accelerated psychology program. I’m currently a student at Bishop State Community College, my expected date of graduation is May 2014. I would like more info on the psychology curriculum and scholarship info as well. My in plan GPA is 3.57
    while out of plan is 2.97. Thank you in advance for your time and patience.
