Lane College Promotes Three African Americans

Lane College, the historically Black educational institution in Jackson, Tennessee, has announced three promotions.

John R. Arnold, associate professor of mass communications, has been named chair of the Division of Liberal Studies and Education. Prior to joining the Lane College faculty in 2010, Dr. Arnold taught at Wayne State University and Howard University.

Dr. Arnold is the host of a syndicated radio program which discussions news and other topics concerning urban communities.

Penny Brown Minter was named director of intercollegiate athletics.  Minter has been on the administrative staff at the college for 13 years.

Minter holds an associate’s degree from Jackson State Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.

Darrell Listenbee was named assistant director of athletics. He will take on this new duty while continuing to serve as director of athletic compliance and assistant to the president.

Listenbee is a 2004 graduate of Lane College. He went on to earn an MBA at Union University.
