Cheryl Waites Is the New Dean of the School of Social Work at Wayne State University

Cheryl Waites was appointed the seventh dean of the School of Social Work at Wayne State University in Detroit. She has served as interim dean since last October. She joined the School of Social Work in 2007 as associate dean. Prior to coming to Wayne State, she was associate chair of the department of social work at North Carolina State University.

Dean Waites holds a master of social work degree from Fordham University in New York and a doctorate in counselor education and psychology theory and research from North Carolina State University.
