University of Minnesota Names Finalists for Post of Vice President for Equity and Diversity

The University of Minnesota has announced three finalists for the post of vice president for equity and diversity. The three candidates are all visiting campus during the first half of May for public forums. Two of the three candidates are African Americans.

Wanda S. Mitchell is vice provost for faculty development and inclusive excellence at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. She joined UNH in 2002 as a visiting professor of education and was promoted to her current position in 2010. From 1989 to 2002, Dr. Mitchell was a faculty member and administrator at Hampton University in Virginia.

Dr. Mitchell is a graduate of Georgia Southern University. She holds a master’s degree from Hampton University and an educational doctorate from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Alysa C. Rollock is vice president for ethics and compliance at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She came to Purdue in 1998 as an associate professor of management and took her present post in 2008. From 1992 to 1999 she was an associate professor of law at Indiana University.

Rollock is a graduate of Princeton University, where she majored in history. She earned her law degree at Yale.
