The New Provost at Bowie State University

Weldon Jackson was appointed provost and vice president for academic affairs at Bowie State University in Maryland. Dr. Jackson has more than a quarter-century of experience in higher education administration. Most recently, he has been serving as special assistant to the president at Morehouse College in Atlanta. He will begin his new duties at Bowie State on July 8.

Dr. Jackson is a graduate of Morehouse College, where he majored in political science. He holds a Ph.D. in government from Harvard University.

In Memoriam: Roscoe Hightower Jr., 1966-2024

Dr. Hightower was a professor of marketing at his alma mater, historically Black Florida A&M University, where he taught for over two decades. He also served the university as the Centennial Eminent Scholar Chair and Professor of Marketing and Facility Management.
