Rudy Crew Will Be the New Education Czar in Oregon

Rudy Crew was named to the new position of chief education officer for the state of Oregon. The former head of public school systems in New York City, Miami, Florida, Sacramento, California, and Tacoma, Washington, has been serving as a professor in the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California.

As the new education czar in Oregon, Dr. Crew will be responsible for all public educational entities in the state from kindergarten through community and four-year colleges. He will earn an annual salary of $280,000.

Dr. Crew is a native of Poughkeepsie, New York. A graduate of Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, he holds master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Massachusetts.
