Two African Americans Are Among Four Finalists for Dean of Students at Iowa State University

Iowa State University has announced four candidates for the position of dean of students. All candidates will be visiting the Iowa State campus in the next week to participate in a public forum. Two of the four candidates are African Americans.

Pamela D. Anthony is assistant dean of students at Georgia State University. Anthony is a graduate of James Madison University in Virginia. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. from Georgia State University. She is also a finalist for dean of students at the University of Colorado.

Miron P. Billingsley is associate vice president for student affairs at Prairie View A&M University in Texas. He has held that post since July 2008. Previously, Dr. Billingsley served as vice president for student affairs at Arkansas Baptist College. He has served on the faculty or in the administration at Texas Southern University, the University of Houston, and Langston University in Oklahoma.

Dr. Billingsley  is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He holds a master’s degree from Texas Southern University and a doctorate from Oklahoma State University.
