Two African American Men Appointed to Administrative Posts in Higher Education

Aaron L. Austin was named vice president for student life at Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas. Since July 2010, he has been assistant director of residence life at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Previously, he has held administrative posts at Kansas State University, Arizona State University, and the University of California at San Diego.

Austin is a graduate of Kansas State University, where he majored in music education. He earned a master’s degree at Arizona State University.

Kevin Holmes was appointed director of admissions at the University of the District of Columbia. He was director of recruitment and admissions at Norfolk State University in Virginia. He previously was an admissions officer at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

Holmes holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from George Mason University.
