Nathaniel Bishop Named to Lead the Virginia Tech Medical School’s Interprofessionalism Program

Nathaniel L. Bishop was named chair of the department of interprofessionalism at the Virginia tech Carilion School of Medicine. He is an assistant professor at the medical school and also serves as president of the Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke.
Medical students at Virginia Tech take courses with nursing students and students in other health-related fields as part of their curriculum. This interprofessionalism training is aimed at improving patient care as professionals learn to work together as a team.
Dr. Bishop is a graduate of Radford University. He earned a master’s degree from Virginia Tech and a doctor of ministry degree from the Wesley Theological Seminary.
