Jem Spectar Named a Finalist for Chancellor of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has announced six finalists for chancellor of the university. One of the six finalists is an African American.

Jem Spectar became the fifth president of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 2007. Previously, he was provost at Western Oregon University. He has also served in administrative roles at Princeton University, the University of Scranton, and the University of La Verne in California.

President Spectar is a graduate of the University of La Verne. He holds a master’s degree from George Washington University, a law degree from the University of Maryland, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in political sciences from Claremont Graduate University in California.
