Middlebury College, the highly regarded liberal arts institution in Vermont, has announced the establishment of a new C.V. Starr Middlebury School Abroad. The new venture is in Cameroon and is the first Middlebury School Abroad in sub-Saharan Africa.

Students at the 38 Middlebury School Abroad schools take classes with students from the local area and live with a family from the host country. Students also participate in internships or do volunteer work in the host city.

The newest Middlebury School Abroad will be in the city of Yaounde and will be affiliated with L’Universite Catholique d’Afrique Centrale. All coursework at the school will be taught in French. Students enrolled in the school must pledge to speak no other language other than the one they are studying.
