The New Dean of the Hampton University Journalism School

The Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications at Hampton University in Virginia has announced the appointment of Brett Pulley as its new dean. The appointment is effective on January 1.

Pulley is currently is the media and entertainment industries correspondent for Bloomberg News. Previously he was a senior editor at Forbes and was a reporter for the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, where he was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. He is the author of The Billion Dollar BET (John Wiley, 2004).

A native of Washington, D.C., Pulley is a graduate of Hampton University. He holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
