University of Tennessee Celebrates 50 Years of Racial Integration

The University of Tennessee recently held a gala celebration to commemorate the 50th anniversary of African-American higher education at the institution.

Over 900 people attended the event which honored the university’s first black students, the first black graduates, the first black graduate students, and the first black student athletes.

The celebration included musical, poetry, and dramatic presentations.
