George T. French Jr., president of Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama, has been appointed by Congress to the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity. The committee, which meets twice each year, advises the secretary of education on academic accreditation procedures. Miles College reports that French is the first president of the college to receive a congressional appointment.
President French is a graduate of the University of Louisville and holds a law degree from Miles College.
