Clark Atlanta University received a $100,000 grant from the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation. The funds will be used for scholarships for students who want to pursue careers in public service, teaching, social work, humanities, science, or medicine.

Cheyney University, the historically black educational institution in Pennsylvania, received a $1.75 million grant from the National Science Foundation. The money will be used to recruit, retain, train, and graduate students in STEM fields.

Historically black Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina, received a $289,645 grant from the U.S. Department of Education for a program for professional development of teachers instructing Hispanic students who speak English as a second language.

The School of Pharmacy at historically black Hampton University in Virginia received a $1.3 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to support research in pulmonary fibrosis.

Jackson State University, the historically black educational institution in Mississippi, received a $2 million grant from Full Spectrum South. The company, led by Carlton Brown, has made the largest pledge to the university from a minority-owned firm. The grant will enable Jackson State students to plan sustainable communities.

Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland received a $1 million grant from the KeyBank Foundation to fund scholarships for minority students at its Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.

The Community College of Philadelphia received a $600,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Predominantly Black Institutions Program. The grant will be used to develop programs to serve low-income and middle-class black students.

Quenon Endowed Chair, and vice provost for graduate education at Missouri University of Science and Technology.
