Minority Enrollments Peak at the University of Tennessee
Officials at the flagship campus of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville report the most racially diverse incoming class in the institution’s history. Minorities make up 17 percent of all freshman students, up from 13 percent a year ago.
Blacks make up 9 percent of first-year students on the Knoxville campus. Blacks make up 16 percent of the total population in Tennessee.
