Virginia Tech Invests in Racial Diversity
Virginia Tech has announced plans to spend $1 million over the next five years to increase racial and ethnic diversity on campus. The money will be spent on student recruitment, student outreach programs, faculty recruitment efforts, and curriculum development which will attract minority students and faculty. The university hopes to hire six new minority faculty members in each of the next two years.
Blacks make up 4.5 percent of the total enrollments at Virginia Tech.
