New African-American Studies Program Debuts at Marshall University

Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, is offering a minor program in African-American studies for the first time. The interdisciplinary program is under the direction of David J. Peavler, an assistant professor of history. Students will be able to enroll in the program this fall.

Blacks make up about 5 percent of the 9,300-member undergraduate student body at the university.
