Black Panthers to Teach at the University of New Mexico

David Hilliard, one of the founders of the Black Panther Party, will teach two courses this fall at the University of New Mexico. One course will be on how hip-hop music can be a force for social change. A second course will concern the history of African-American resistance movements in the United States with a particular focus on the Black Panther Party.

Elaine Brown, who chaired the Black Panther Party from 1974 to 1977, will serve as guest lecturer on several occasions during the semester.
