Grants

• Tennessee State University, the historically black educational institution in Nashville, received a $2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health for research in the fields of biochemistry and cell biology.

The university also received a $1 million grant from the U.S. Defense Department to support research in nanoscience and biotechnology.
