New Program in Africana Studies at Long Island University
This semester the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University is introducing a new minor in Africana studies. The new program includes two introductory courses. In addition, students must select three electives from such courses as African Film, Caribbean Literature, African-based Art, and Slavery and the Literary Imagination, among others.
The new minor program is under the direction of Kimberly F. Jones, an associate professor of history, and Carol Allen, an associate professor of English.
