Award

• James P. Comer, Maurice Falk Professor of Child Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine, won the 2007 Grawemeyer Award for education from the University of Louisville. Comer was honored for his book, Leave No Child Behind: Preparing Today’s Youth for Tomorrow’s World. The award comes with a cash prize of $200,000.

Professor Comer, the author of nine books, is a graduate of Indiana University. He holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Michigan and a medical degree from Howard University. He has been a member of the faculty at Yale since 1968.
