Carnegie Corporation Aims to Increase Science and Engineering Faculty at Universities in Africa

The Carnegie Corporation of New York announced the establishment of a new initiative to increase the number of well-trained science and engineering faculty at universities in Africa. The Africa Regional Initiative in Science and Education will seek to train scholars in specific science-related disciplines with emphasis on preparing them to teach.

The new program, administered by the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, will be funded through a three-year, $3.3 million grant.
