Grants

• Fisk University, the historically black educational institution in Nashville, Tennessee, received a $1,430,000 grant from the Kresge Foundation. The grant money will be used to shore up the university’s financial foundation.

• North Carolina A&T State University, the historically black educational institution in Greensboro, received a three-year, $200,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. The funds will finance a research project to develop a process for the steam reforming of methanol with more stable catalysts and less production of carbon monoxide.
