ALMA COLLEGEPresident of the College

The Board of Trustees of Alma College invites nominations and applications for the position of President of the College.  The President is the chief executive officer of the College, serves ex officio on the College’s Board of Trustees and all of its committees, and is considered the principal advisor to the Chair of the Board. 

Alma is a nationally recognized, independent, selective liberal arts institution with about 1400 students.  It enjoys a spacious 125-acre campus located in Alma, Michigan, one hour north of the state capital of Lansing, in the center of the Lower Peninsula.  Twelve miles west of the campus is the College’s Ecological Station, since 1889 the site of faculty-student research.  Alma awards bachelor degrees in the arts, sciences, fine arts, and music; and Alma graduates enjoy high success in graduate school enrollment and first professional employment.  Alma hosts a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, one of only seven in Michigan.

APPLY YOUR SCIENCE TO SERVE SOCIETY

For more than 35 years, the AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellowships have provided scientists and engineers with a unique opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to national and international issues in the federal policy realm, while learning first-hand about establishing and implementing policy.

Fellows select assignments in Congressional offices or federal agencies. This is a year-long opportunity, beginning September 1 and ending August 31. Most federal agencies offer Fellows the ability to renew for a second year.

AAAS seeks candidates from a broad array of backgrounds and a diversity of geographic, disciplinary, gender, and ethnic perspectives. Fellows have ranged in age from late 20s to early 70s. They represent a spectrum of career stages, from recent PhD graduates to faculty on sabbatical to retired scientists and engineers. Fellows also come from a range of sectors, including academia, industry, non-profit organizations, and government labs.

AAAS partners with more than 30 scientific societies that also sponsor fellowships. They conduct separate application and selection processes and provide different stipend and benefits support. Eligibility & Criteria:
To be considered for a fellowship, all successful applicants must:

* Hold a doctoral level degree (PhD, MD, DVM, etc.), in any of the following: Social/Behavioral sciences, Medical/Health disciplines, Biological, Physical or Geosciences. Applicants with a MS in engineering and three or more years of post-degree professional experience also qualify. All degree requirements must be completed by the application deadline.
* Have solid scientific and technical credentials and the endorsement of three references.
* Show a commitment to serve society.
* Exhibit good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to decision-makers and non-scientific audiences.
* Demonstrate integrity, problem-solving ability, good judgment, flexibility, and leadership qualities.
* Hold U.S. citizenship.

Note: Federal employees are not eligible

What we offer:
Stipend: Approximately $74,000 to $97,000 (depending on years of experience and previous salary).

Relocation Allowance: Up to $4,000 for first-year Fellows with stipends via AAAS if move is greater than 50 miles outside Washington, D.C.

Health Insurance: Monthly reimbursements for Fellows who receive stipends via AAAS. Insurance coverage via agency for those hired directly as temporary federal employees.

Travel/Training: Minimum of $4,000 for Fellows receiving a stipend via AAAS, to be used for fellowship assignment-related travel, conferences, and/or training. Varies by placement and must be approved by supervisor.

Aurora University invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the College of Professional Studies of Aurora University, which houses the Dunham School of Business, the School of Nursing, and the School of Social Work. The College of Professional Studies seeks a leader with a strong commitment to student-centered learning, faculty development, and an appreciation of the liberal arts. The Dean, who reports to the Provost, administers a complex College that offers undergraduate degrees in accounting, business administration, management, marketing, nursing, and social work as well as masters degrees in business administration and social work. The BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The BSW and MSW programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

The Dean is responsible for oversight and collegial strategic planning for the college as well as needs and outcomes assessment; program development and evaluation; faculty development, grant development, and related activities. The Dean works collaboratively with the administrative heads of the Schools of Business, Nursing and Social Work in personnel evaluation, faculty development and related activities. The Dean also will work collaboratively with the Office of University Advancement to identify and secure support for the college.

The successful candidate will have a terminal degree and significant administrative experience in an area within the College of Professional Studies. He or she also shall have experience with external professional accreditation processes and curriculum assessment. The Dean must appreciate the importance of all disciplines included in the College of Professional Studies and be an advocate for both undergraduate and graduate education in the entire College to the university and to the external community. The Dean should be able to demonstrate an appreciation for interdisciplinary approaches to learning and respect for students and colleagues of all backgrounds.

Responsibilities: The Cataloging Technician is responsible for library website maintenance, database support, and participates in activities and day-to-day operation of a highly automated library technical services unit, including but not limited to, cataloging, acquisitions, and materials processing. Manage the library databases and the library website through a content management system, and incorporate appropriate technologies into the library's digital environment. Provide assistance in the daily operations of the technical services area. Perform edits of existing Library of Congress or member records on the OCLC system. Download OCLC records into the Millennium system. Create and maintain appropriate records including, but not limited to order records, bibliographic records, statistics, new title lists. Search for and download authority records from OCLC. Record statistical counts of titles that have been cataloged or withdrawn from the collection. Process library materials by labeling, stamping, bar-coding and affixing security strips to all material for the collection. Inventory and order working supplies for the unit. Assist in training and supervising of work-study employees. Conduct reference interviews and provide reference instruction and assistance using print and electronic references sources. Perform other related duties as required. To ensure compliance with federal and college requirements some mandatory training must be completed for this position.

Salary: $12.58 per hour

Requirements: Associate degree and two (2) years related experience, of which one year must be full-time library experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer experience including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Outlook. Experience in acquisitions in a technical services library unit or with a computerized cataloging or acquisitions system. Ability to relate to and interact with a non-traditional, diverse population.

Responsibilities: The incumbent is responsible for creating and organizing a learning environment for a comprehensive Diesel Equipment Technology program. Effectively prepare, teach, grade, and assess student learning in courses assigned. Advance the role and goals of Central New Mexico Community College. Create and model a quality learning environment to support a diverse student population including students with disabilities or special learning needs. Structure classes and curriculum to correspond with program and course outcomes. Prepare, distribute and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate. Convene classes as scheduled. Respond to student inquiries within 48 hours (business days, M-F). Incorporate, as pedagogically appropriate, current technology in classroom, distance learning, and laboratory environments. Maintain student records (e.g., grades, attendance) and provide documentation for incompletes within established college timelines. Complete assigned duties, reports and other required documentation on time. Utilize a variety of technology-based programs to access and input information related to student records and college/school/department processes (e.g., banner, MyCNM, grade books, etc). Demonstrate the ability to maintain a professional level of competence by attending workshops, clinics, and seminars to keep current in the occupation and teaching field (NATEF minimum 20 hours per years). Provide for the security of facilities, equipment, and instructional materials and maintain safe working conditions. Abide by all college policies and regulations. To ensure compliance with federal and college requirements some mandatory training must be completed for this position.  

Salary: Bachelor's Degree $53,318/Master's Degree: $55,748/Doctorate: $58,179  

Requirements: Minimum of five (5) years experience within the past ten (10) years in the Diesel Equipment or Heavy Truck Industry. Must attain ASE Med/Heavy Truck Certifications within the first 6 months of employment. High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds. Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to relate to and instruct a non-traditional, diverse student population.

COLLEGE OF STATEN ISLAND (CUNY)Assistant Vice President, Institutional Advancement & External Affairs

The College of Staten Island (CSI) is one of 11 senior colleges of The City University of New York, and, the only public college on Staten Island.  CSI offers 77 undergraduate programs, 22 graduate and, through the CUNY Graduate Center, 30 challenging doctoral programs.  The College enrolls approximately 13,000 students and employs nearly 2,000 faculty and staff.  Located on a 204-acre park-like campus that is minutes away from the cultural treasures of Manhattan, the CSI campus is the largest collegiate site in NYC.  Fourteen neo-Georgian-style buildings house 300 classrooms, laboratories, instructional spaces, and study lounges, as well as department, faculty, and program offices.  CSI boasts an advanced, networked infrastructure and is developing a high performance computational center that will support technology-based research, teaching, and learning throughout CUNY.  The College is planning for enrollment growth and for the construction of new residential facilities during the coming five-year period.

He/she will serve as the Chief Operating Officer for the division. The AVP will work with senior administration and with other members of the College as well as external communities. 

The AVP will work closely with the Vice President on ongoing departmental planning.  She/he will be responsible for supervision of fundraising staff and other members of the Advancement team, and, with the Vice President, for planning and directly soliciting major gift support for the College and working with consultants as needed.  She/he will supervise Advancement professionals and support staff to provide a strategic and cohesive methodology for growing the College's development programs.  The AVP will work closely with the Vice President and CSI voluntary Foundation Board to identify funds for the College.

Bachelors Degree and 8 years of experience required.  Masters or advanced degree preferred and at least 8-10 years of Institutional Advancement /Development or equivalent related experience, with a preference in higher education. - Collect and prepare the faculty scholarship information for the yearly CUNY Scholarship Report
- Organize and attend monthly Divisional Chair Meetings

Special Projects as Assigned (For example)
- Gather faculty travel plan requests and prepare report for the Dean; gather and organize data for faculty recognition; identify usage details of reassign time; support LGBT faculty and staff meeting

The duties and responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:

Position 1
- Advise and register all developmental students in appropriate initiatives.
- Facilitate student placement with appropriate tutors in the Center for Academic Student Assistant (CASA).
- Monitor tutor timesheets and attendance records.
- Facilitate the delivery of mathematics instruction in both Immersion and Pre-Test Preparation initiatives.

- Coordinate registration for CPE Prep-Steps and Pre-Test Preparation Initiatives.

The Position

Qualifications
The successful candidate must be able to achieve positive, measurable results in a fast-paced environment. A minimum of an earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution, plus seven years of higher education administrative academic experience in progressive leadership roles and responsibilities, and three years of teaching experience is required.  The position requires an accessible and collaborative style, coupled with a keen ability to articulate the College’s mission and academic offerings to faculty, staff, alumni, the community, and accrediting bodies. A proven track record in strategic planning and effective team building is essential. An understanding of institutional assessment, quality standards, and experience working successfully with governing boards is crucial. DELAWARE STATE UNIVERSITY — Full-Time Tenure-Track Position, Agriculture and Natural Resources

General Description:
This is a full-time, twelve-month tenure-track position with 40% research and 60% teaching responsibility

Responsibilities:
The faculty member will be expected to develop a nationally recognized research program supported by extramurally obtained funds. The faculty member must be able to serve on departmental, college and University committees. Required to publish in recognized refereed journals. Duties to include recruiting, mentoring and training of undergraduate and graduate students.

Minimum Qualifications:
Areas of expertise may include alternative forage production and bio-fuel. The ability to work in a team environment with multi-disciplinary collaboration is required. Demonstrated ability and strong interest in teaching.
