THE UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR

POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
The Director of Financial Aid of The Graduate Center is a senior administrator reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration. In addition to managing all aspects of the Office and the College's Federal and New York State financial aid programs, the Director manages a $20 million budget in New York State funding for institutional doctoral financial aid, and directs the allocation of investment income funds from a $39 million endowment that's largely restricted to doctoral student support. THE COLLEGE OF WILLIAM AND MARY — Instructor, Women’s Studies Program
The Women’s Studies Program is seeking to appoint an instructor to a non-tenure-eligible, one-year restricted position with possible renewal for a second year. The preferred candidate will have a PhD or equivalent, and research and teaching experience in topics central to Women’s Studies. A social science specialization is preferred. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching two sections of an Introduction to Women’s Studies course with a strong cross-cultural component, and elective courses in the instructor’s own area of specialization. The teaching load is six courses per year. The annual salary is $37,000 with benefits.
The College of William and Mary, chartered in 1693, is the nation’s second oldest academic institution. It is a highly selective, medium-sized state university committed to excellence in the liberal arts and in graduate and professional education. The Women’s Studies Program is part of the School of Arts and Sciences. It is a dynamic interdisciplinary program, offering both a major and a minor. Full-time faculty position at the rank of Lecturer in Discipline, beginning in Spring 2008, renewable appointment. Opportunity for practitioner in finance to assume teaching and program development responsibilities in the School of Continuing Education.
Responsibilities: Teach courses in finance; advise prospective and enrolled students in the post-baccalaureate Business Careers Institute; mentor students in the various MS programs specializing in finance; recruit adjunct instructors; and engage in program initiatives to develop new programs in business; program-specific administrative responsibilities.
Requirements: MBA required, doctorate preferred; successful teaching experience in business and finance at the graduate and undergraduate level, preferably in a research university setting; 7-10 years of professional experience in finance, with responsibility for an extensive investment portfolio.

DARTMOUTH COLLEGE — Vice President For Institutional Diversity And Equity
Dartmouth College, one of the nation’s oldest, most prestigious, and diverse institutions of higher education in the Ivy League, seeks a vice president for institutional diversity and equity (VPIDE) to build upon its considerable efforts to date. Newly elevated to vice presidential status, the VPIDE is responsible for the creation, implementation, and coordination of programs that both enhance Dartmouth’s diversity profile and continue the development of a teaching and learning environment in which diversity is integral.
The vice president will report jointly to the president and the provost and will serve as a member of the President’s Executive Council. Critical to his or her success will be the relationships forged across the campus, including especially the academic, co-curricular, and administrative units. In this effort, the vice president will be aided by the Dartmouth College Council on Diversity, which consists of the college’s most senior deans and vice presidents and is therefore well positioned to assist in the development and the execution of an institution-wide strategy to enhance diversity and equity. The vice president will directly supervise the office of institutional diversity and equity and will manage and allocate a diversity venture fund to seed new diversity and equity initiatives.
The vice president will be an experienced and successful leader, manager, and effective communicator with a distinguished record of increasingly responsible leadership. He or she will possess significant assessment and planning skills with a track record of having implemented ambitious and creative programs; a collaborative leadership style; familiarity with the latest research and pedagogy in areas of diversity and equity; an abiding commitment to higher education and to excellence in teaching, research, and service; considerable diplomatic and political skills; exceptional communications and relationship-building skills; and, of course, a deep commitment to diversity and equity.
