The New Dean of the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance at the University of Michigan

dworkinThe board of regents of the University of Michigan has appointed Aaron Dworkin as the next dean of the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. He will begin his term as dean on July 20. Dworkin will be the first African American to serve as dean of the school.

Dworkin is an internationally acclaimed violinist and serves as founder and president of the Sphinx Organization, a nonprofit organization based in Detroit that aims to increase diversity in the performing arts.

Dworkin holds a bachelor’s degree and a master of music degree in violin performance from the University of Michigan.
