Delaware State University Acquires a New Flight Simulator for Its Aviation Program

Delaware State University, the historically Black educational institution in Dover, has acquired a new flight simulator so that students in its aviation program can practice flying in the classroom in addition to using one of the 10 aircraft currently in the university’s fleet. The aviation program at Delaware State, founded in 1987, offers a bachelor’s degree program in professional pilot and aviation management. The aviation program is based at Delaware Air Park in Cheswold, Delaware, just a few miles from the main campus.

The new flight simulator offer programs so students can conduct virtual practice using any of the planes in the university’s fleet. The university’s older simulator offered a programs using only one plane and had simulated flights only in local areas. The new simulator has programs for 30 different types of aircraft and flight simulations can take place anywhere in North America.

  1. This is great. PC-based flight simulators are getting more sophisticated and more affordable as computer technology continues to improve.

    I would like to know which flight simulator Delaware State purchased.
