Hampton University Offers New Degree Program in Liberal Arts With Several Concentrations

Hampton University in Virginia is now offering a new bachelor’s degree program in liberal arts. Juniors and seniors in the new degree program will be able to build their own curriculum in several different concentrations including, international studies, law and justice, music management, urban studies, recreation and tourism, community and social services, and emergency and disaster management.

Dean of the School of Liberal Arts Dr. Mamie E. Locke, stated, “The new offerings will allow students to customize their curriculum without being locked into political science, history, performing arts, etc. The last two years of the new major, students will sit with their advisers and map their plan.”

“The addition of the new major and concentrations will produce great job placement opportunities and employers will be able to hire candidates that not only possess top-notch writing, analytical and communication skills but also a broad base of knowledge with tailored interests,” said Dean Locke.
