Fort Valley State University’s Dual Enrollment Program

The University Today Scholars (UTS) program at Fort Valley State University in Georgia enrolls local high school students in college courses. Students who are accepted into the program earn high schools credits that can also be used to satisfy degree programs at any University System of Georgia college or university. High achieving junior and seniors with grade point averages or at least 3.0 in high school are eligible for the UTS program. Courses can be taken on the Fort Valley University campus or online. There is no cost to the students to participate as funds for the program come from a federal grant.

This fall there are 10 students enrolled in the UTS program. The university hopes to expand enrollments to 36 in the near future. In addition to college coursework the UTS program offers coaching classes for students preparing to take the ACT or SAT college entrance examinations.
