A Trio of New Administrative Appointments

Damon A. Williams, vice provost for diversity and climate and chief diversity officer at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, was elected to a three-year term on the Commission on Inclusion of the American Council on Education.

Dr. Williams has been at the University of Wisconsin since 2008. Previously, he was an assistant vice provost at the University of Connecticut. He holds a doctorate in organizational behavior and management from the University of Michigan.

Rose Obunaga was appointed assistant athletics director at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She will also be the head women’s volleyball coach at the college.

Obunaga, a former member of the Kenyan Olympic volleyball team, is a graduate of Columbia College. She holds a master’s degree in public service administration from the University of Evansville in Indiana.

Valerie Lee was named vice president for outreach and engagement at Ohio State University. She will continue in her role as the university’s vice provost for diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer. Dr. Lee, who has been on the faculty at Ohio State for 21 years, is the former chair of the English department and former chair of the department of women’s studies.

Dr. Lee is a graduate of Atlantic Union College. She holds a master’s degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, and a Ph.D. in English from Ohio State University.
