Carl McCall Named to Lead SUNY Board of Trustees

H. Carl McCall was appointed by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo as chair of the board of trustees of the State University of New York. He has served on the board since 2007.

McCall served three terms as a New York state senator representing the upper Manhattan district of New York City. He has also served as an Ambassador to the United Nations, commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and as commissioner of the New York State Division of Human Rights. From 1985 to 1993, Mr. McCall served as a vice president of Citibank. He also served as president of the New York City Board of Education from 1991 to 1993.

McCall was educated at Dartmouth College, Andover Newton Theological Seminary and the University of Edinburgh. He is the recipient of nine honorary degrees.
